SYRACUSE, NY – As the 2011 racing season rapidly approaches, the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints is pleased to announce that SUNY Canton Series will be aboard for its third consecutive season. Once again all events held at Utica-Rome, Can-Am, Fonda and Mohawk International will carry a separate point fund which will be given to the top ten drivers.
Back in 2009, Penn Yan, NY’s Lance Yonge took the SUNY Canton crown with Quebec’s Steve Poirier bringing home the lion’s share of the point fund last year. Both Yonge and Poirier will be at each event looking to defend their titles. But, the list of challengers will be a who’s who… Justin Barger, Chuck Hebing, Jeff Cook, Kevin Ward Jr., Tommy Wickham, Dan Kaszubinski, Michael Parent, Jason Barney, Chris Jones, Mike Stelter, Shawn Donath and many, many more.

The 28th Anniversary Tour of the Lucas Oil backed series kicks off in little over a month at Can-Am on Sat., April 30th. The event will be a very important start to the tour as not only will it carry points for the SUNY Canton Series but also the overall points as well as the Northwood 2 Construction/LaSalle Motorsports Canadian Sprint Series.
