USAC’s Western Ford Focus and Focus Young Guns series resume action April 2 at Madera, Calif. in the “Gerhardt Classic” with Jessica Clark (Focus) and Brody Kostecki (Young Guns) the point leaders.
Cole Custer of Kannapolis, N.C. won Saturday night’s 12-lap USAC Western Focus Young Guns feature at Ventura Raceway. He passed Sheldon DeBlauw on lap nine and led the final four laps in his Kruseman Enterprises machine to beat Zach Bogner, DeBlauw and Katlynn Leer.
Saturday night’s accompanying USAC Western Ford Focus feature at Ventura was rained out.
The April 2 Madera race marks the return of the USAC Ford Focuses to the 1/3-mile paved oval after a year “off.”
