SYRACUSE, NY – It what has always been a popular sponsorship program throughout the years with the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS), once again the halfway bonus will be sponsored by Cook’s Contracting Services. The driver that is leading on lap 13 at each ESS full point event will collect a cool $100 cash.
Cook’s Contracting Services is owned by ESS star Jeff Cook who hails from Antwerp, NY. As the 28th Anniversary Season is ready to drop its first green flag at the Can-Am Motorsports Park on Saturday, April 30th, the opening event is important to the north country businessman as it’s the closest track to his home. Not only does Cook has his contracting company but also owns Cook’s Plumbing, Heating and Hardware and Cook’s Family Diner, both located in Philadelphia, NY.
ESS already pays out the largest nightly A-Main payoff of any 360 sprint car organization in the northeast and Canada but with many special nightly awards the cash payouts increase considerably. The strong purse and awards will keep car counts in record numbers for the upcoming season. The halfway bonus has been awarded for almost the entire 29 year history of the club.
“Jeff along with his wife Lori and her family the Flath’s just have been great supporters of ESS since the early days.” noted ESS President Chuck Miller. “The dedication by so many like the Cook’s and Flath’s are what keeps ESS going throughout all these years.
Sprint fans from northern New York and southern Ontario can see Cook’s familiar #10 sprinter, which will be powered by a new Roush-Yates Ford this year, at the Salmon Run Mall in Watertown, NY. The colorful mount will be on display until Sunday, March 27.
Just like his good friend Chuck Hebing, who announced the return of the Cobra Coaches Dash Series, Cook will via for the 2011 Lucas Oil ESS championship in hopes of dethroning Steve Poirier from his title spot.
