SYRACUSE, NY – Once again, Glenn Styres and his beautiful Ohsweken Speedway will sponsor the A-Main winner’s bonus for the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS). When a driver collects the checkered flag at the end of the 25 lap A-Main event, the driver will not only collect the winner’s share posted but also a little extra from the track owner/sprint car pilot.
This season marks the 29th for the successful sanctioning body and once again ESS pays out the largest A-Main purse of any 360 sprint car organization in the northeast and Canada. On top of that posted purse are many nightly sponsors to reward the drivers even more during the evening and Ohsweken Speedway is one of those contributors.
“The track built in the man’s backyard” has grown to be Canada’s sprint car capital. Ohsweken holds its own weekly sprint car division and has made it an unique success after many years of hard work. After running on their regular Friday night, several of their drivers will venture out and challenge the ESS tour regulars at some of ESS’ events.
To spice up the yearly calendar many specials fill the slate and ESS is proud to be part of some of those events. The biggest 360 race of its kind is now entering its 7th annual gathering, the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals. ESS has been a part of each event and three-time ESS champ Steve Poirier has collected two Nationals titles. Also, the Lucas Oil tour will be part of the June swing for the Northern Summer Nationals which includes Ohsweken and South Buxton Raceways.
