(Gardena, CA, April 13, 2011) It has been and will be a very busy week on and off the track for rising Southern California Sprint Car star Greg Alexander. Last Saturday night, the Gardena, California based racer finished 10th in the USAC Western 360 main event at Santa Maria Speedway. This Saturday, he will enter the next race in the series at the Groppetti Automotive Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California. Sandwiched in between the two races he has been busy with the launch of his new web site – gregalexanderracing.com – and doing a world wide Internet radio interview on the Dirt Track Channel’s Sprint Car Report.

Things started good for the personable young driver at Santa Maria. He qualified the Chuck Tyler Motorsports, Trench Shoring, Barnes Systems, Sander Engineering, Tyler Pool Service, Tyler Family Farms #72 third in the 27-car field. He came from the sixth starting spot to finish second in his eight lap heat race. That earned him a good starting spot on the outside of the third row for the 30-lap main event.
Once the green dropped to begin the main, Alexander briefly moved up to fourth, but he was fighting a tight race car. On lap three the tight car bit hard and he was involved in a multi-car tangle in turn two. Alexander was forced to restart at the back of the pack. By the time the main ended, he had fought his way back to 10th and maintained second place in the point standings. He is only nine points behind the leader heading into this week’s race in Tulare.
Alexander, who will turn 22-years-old on April 19th, also launched his new website at gregalexanderracing.com. The website is loaded with photos and information and includes videos of his qualifying and heat race efforts at Santa Maria.
On Tuesday, Alexander’s Internet radio interview with Sean Wood on the Dirt Track Channel’s Sprint Car Racing Report was heard world wide. To listen in, please paste the following link into your browser and once there, click on April 12th. http://thedirttrackchannel.com/Webcast.html.
In addition to his Chuck Tyler Motorsports ride in the USAC Western 360 Series, Alexander also drives the John Bellegante owned #23 in the Amsoil USAC/CRA Series. That car is sponsored by Barnes Systems, Amsoil, Persall Masonry, and Scott’s Headers and Mufflers.
