From Port Royal Speedway
Port Royal, PA – Some 150 chocolate Easter rabbits will be looking for a youngster to take them home on Saturday night at Port Royal Speedway as the Easter Bunny looks for adoptive parents when kids pass through the gate for the April 23 racing program of 410 sprints, late models and 305 sprints.
Free chocolate bunnies will be given to the first 150 kids that pass through the gate with an Easter Egg scramble also planned.
Youngsters separated into age groups of 0 – 3, 4 – 7 and 8 – 12 will be turned loose to gather the eggs in the infield after warm ups, just prior to 7 PM.
To date, three 410 sprint features at Port Royal this season have yielded three different winners in Blane Heimbach, Ryan Taylor and Steve Buckwalter. Waylon Wagner and Andy Haus have split the pair of late model mains run this season.
The 305 sprints will be making their first appearance of the season for the Easter Saturday program before returning to the track five more times in 2011. The division saw drivers such at Tyler Bear, Steve Whary, Ryan Lynn and Mark Watkins claim Port races last season.
General admission gates for the Kids Easter Night program at Port Royal Speedway will open Saturday at 5 PM with racing planned for 7 PM.
In other oval news, one addition has been made to the newly announced regular weekly event lineup procedures for all divisions that was initially omitted in error.
The new addition to the new procedure package effects feature winners and states: The winner of a regular feature event can start no better than 11th in the next regular event that he/she attends. In the event that said winner does not attend the next regular racing event but returns to a regular event at a later date, he/she can start no better than 11th in the feature on that night.
