Saturday’s “Larry Burton Classic” at the All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. could be pivotal in the battle for the 2011 USAC Western Classic Racing Series championship. Also affording points toward the USAC AMSOIL Western Sprint Series title, the race will feature two tight point races.

Scott Pierovich of Alamo, Calif. is three points ahead of four-time Western Sprint Champ Tony Hunt in the Classic standings, while Hunt has a seven point lead over Brian McClish in the Western points.

Two of the three USAC Western Sprint races held at Roseville last year went to Hunt, while the third went to Luis Ramos III, the Western Sprint w009 Rookie of the Year and 2010 Most Improved Driver.

The USAC Western Ford Focus and Focus Young Guns series join the Sprint cars for Saturday’s tripleheader.
