ADA, Ok. (May 18, 2011) – When a race car driver is on a roll, winning doesn’t get easier. But it sure doesn’t get any harder, either.
Whit Gastineau won his third straight Oil Capitol Racing Series winged sprint car race, passing leader Danny Jennings after a restart with four laps remaining at Oklahoma Sports Park. After Gastineau took the lead, he had to hold Jennings off when the field had to go through a final restart with two laps remaining.
Goodyear is the exclusive rear tire provider for the OCRS and the tiremaker designed a right rear tire specifically for the competitors in the OCRS. The OCRS tires are manufactured at Goodyear‘s Innovation Center in Akron, Ohio, the same facility where Goodyear builds the tires used by NASCAR’s three top tier series, NHRA drag racing tires and the Eagle Dirt Track Specials that the company makes for the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.
Gastineau’s win came in the Harold Leep Jr. Memorial race at OSP.
Jennings finished second and Matt Sherrell was third. Gary Owens, who started 18th, finished fourth, followed by Rafe Essary.
