SANTA MARIA, CA — (May 23, 2011) – Andy Gregg chased a dream. The Californian wanted to win a race in the King of the West winged sprint car series and, though he’d been close, he had never done the job.

Finally, Gregg had the field chasing him at Santa Maria Speedway. He won the 30-lap feature race with the best sprint car drivers on the west coast racing behind him.

Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the King of the West series, supplying the same line of bias-ply tires that the company supplies the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and other touring racing programs. The Akron, Ohio-based tiremaker also supplies tires for sprint car programs at tracks with weekly winged sprint car series.

Gregg’s victory came in front of a large crowd. Tim Kaeding finished second, collecting his fifth top-five finish in six races so far this season. Jonathan Allard was third, followed by Evan Suggs and Brent Kaeding. Suggs posted the best time in qualifying.
