Brownsburg, Indiana (June 30, 2011) — Ireland’s Ali Jackson has earned favorable results at the Bryant Heating & Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome, so he was excited to return to the 1/5-mile track on Wednesday evening, June 29, to participate in the USAC Mopar D1 Midget Series event.
Ali began the evening strong as he won his 10-lap heat race. Because the main event starting places at the Indianapolis Speedrome are determined by series’ points standings, Ali was positioned to start the 50-lap D1 Midget feature in fourth. Ali started the race well and got in line to move forward on the tight, flat paved oval, but passing was difficult, so Ali finished the race in fourth position.
“I had a good car and I tried to go forward but just couldn’t get an opening to make a clean pass, so I settled for what I could get, which was finishing fourth,” said Ali Jackson. “We have had good runs here at the Speedrome and I know that I will soon get my first win here.”
As a result of consistent top-four finishes in all the previous Indianapolis Speedrome events, Ali Jackson is now ranked third in the USAC Mopar D1 Pavement Midget Sseries points championship. Ali’s next race driving the #9 midget of Nine Racing will be on Wednesday, July 6, again at the Bryant Heating & Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome.
Nine Racing’s 2011 sponsor lineup includes K&N Engineering, Eibach Springs, Weld Racing, Klotz Synthetic Lubricants, Penske Racing Shocks, Performance Friction Brakes, ASE, Earl’s Performance Plumbing, SSi Decals, PJ1, and Hoosier Racing Tire.
