Darren Hagen has bolted to the top of the Mopar USAC National Midget standings as a result of last week’s events in Indiana and he will carry a 27-point edge over defending series titlist Bryan Clauson into an August 21 race at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wisc.
Rain forced postponement of Friday night’s USAC “Mel Kenyon 100” USAC Mopar National Midget race at the Bryant Heating & Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome. Kyle Larson was the fastest qualifier and heats went to Tanner Swanson, Jarett Andretti and Dillon Welch. The cars were on the track for the 100-lap feature in front of a huge crowd when the rains came and after efforts to dry the track, the rains returned. The date for the resumption of the event will be announced when firm.
Kyle Larson of Elk Grove, Calif. won Thursday night’s 30-lap Mopar USAC National Midget race at Lucas Oil Raceway, leading the final 24 laps after passing Clauson for the lead on lap seven.
