(Perris, CA, September 19, 2011) The Estrella WarBird Museum and Woodland Automobile Display has jumped on board as a full sponsor of one of the four lap races in the 2nd Annual “Legends of Ascot Match Race” during the 16th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals on Friday, November 4th, at Perris Auto Speedway. The inclusion of their sponsorship brings the winner’s share of the 16 lap challenge to more than $7,000.00 and the race is still a month and a half away.
“I am blown away that the winner’s purse for “The Legends of Ascot Match Race” has grown to more than $7,000.00 in less than a month,” promoter Don Kazarian said shaking his head. “Who knows how big it is going to get? That is already a ton of money for a 16-lap race and the drivers involved will be pulling out all stops to take that paycheck home. I have to thank Bobby & Belita Michnowicz and Don Weaver for the hard work they have done and all of the sponsors that have jumped on board and who will be jumping on board. This is going to be an epic, cannot miss event.”
The race will match the top two points drivers from the Amsoil USAC/CRA and the top two in Amsoil USAC National Series points who accept the challenge plus one wild card driver. They will contest four, four lap races and the driver who accumulates the most points will take home the big money.
The Estrella WarBird Museum was chartered in 1992. The museum is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of military aircraft, vehicles and memorabilia. In July of 2009, the museum added the Woodland Automotive Display Building which preserves auto racing history. Located at 4251 Dry Creek Road in Paso Robles, California (93446), the museum is open Thursday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and on legal holiday Mondays. Admission to the museum is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children 6-12 and free for those 5 and under. Students with proper id and seniors (60 +) get in for just $5.00. For more information, please call: 805 227-0440 or visit their web site at: http://www.ewarbirds.org/
