The United States Auto Club and Short Track Auto Racing Series (STARS) have re-affirmed their commitment to the sport of Midget Auto Racing through the 2012 racing season as a result of today’s agreement to again co-sanction events next year.
Extending the relationship which produced successful events during 2011 at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Ill. and Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway, the two associations will again work together in a number of co-sanctioned races next season in their continuing efforts to offer race fans the most comprehensive entertainment package possible.
“We were extremely pleased with the results of our 2011 efforts,” says USAC’s James Spink, a statement echoed by STARS Managing Director Mike Guglielmucci. “The association with STARS has proven to be a mutually satisfying one for both sanctioning bodies and for competitors and fans as well. We look forward to a long and lasting relationship as we move forward.”
Combined marketing and membership effort by both USAC and STARS and joint promotional efforts are planned for 2012, with Grundy County Speedway serving as the “home track” for co-sanctioned events.
