From Sydney Speedway
Glenn Revell earned the quiet achiever tag tonight as he claimed the KC Tools sponsored Speedcar A-Main in front of a massive crowd at Tyrepower Sydney Speedway.
Revell was in the right place at the right time to take the win after Matt Smith, who was going for his third win in-a-row suffered a flat inside rear which ended his race in the sights of the chequered flag.
Simon Roberts took the lead from the drop of the green flag and set up a big lead before being run down and passed by Smith.
Smith ran a calculated race, until his tyre deflated as he found himself right at the back of the field on the opening lap after running wide in turn one.
He worked his way through the field until the tyre ultimately ended his race. Second to the line was Nathan Smee and third was Troy Jenkins.
In the East Coast AMCA Nationals Classic, Victorian Campbell Hughes took a flag to flag victory ahead of Robert Chant and Queenslander Russ Hardy. It was an entertaining non-stop affair with a new 20-lap record being set.
The Legend Cars A-Main went to Tim Heith over Brett Morris and Brett Mitchell.
The Street Stocks A-Main was claimed by Brett Mitchell from Brett Cotton and Glenn Mitchell.
The next event on Sydney Speedway’s calendar is the running of the Frank’s Auto Parts Australian Late Model Championship next Friday and Saturday.
