Port Royal All Star Bob Weikert Memorial To Pay $10,000 To Win April 28

Port Royal – The All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Fairgrounds Speedway is just three weeks away and the bar has been set high for the 2012 winner of the prestigious event.

The late car owner’s son and one of the current proprietors of Weikert’s Livestock, Todd Weikert has announced that in conjunction with Port Royal Speedway, the race will pay a hefty $10,000 to win the 30-lap, sanctioned affair coming up on Saturday, April 28 at 7 pm run in honor of the late hall of fame sprint car owner.

Greg Hodnett won last year’s event and took home $9,000 that included a fast time award and a few thousand in lap money.

This year’s 30-lap race alone with pay $10,000 to win with more Weikert incentive and bonus money announcements in the offing.

The Weikert Memorial Port Royal All Star invasion promises to be and in fact will be one of the richest events the circuit offers throughout its 2012 campaign.

All Star warriors expected to invade for the 2012 Weikert Memorial include multi-time series champions Tim Shaffer and Dale Blaney along with stars David Gravel, Stevie Smith, Sam Hefertepe Jr., Cap Henry, Peter Miller and more.

The Weikert race will be a pivotal event on the 2012 All Stars slate as it is one of several that will pay points toward the 2012 East Region All Stars Championship, worth $20,000.

The Eastern Region All Stars Champion will be crowned at Port Royal Speedway in early September at the two-day Tuscarora 50 as part of the Juniata County Fair.

The 45th annual Tuscarora 50 weekend sanctioned by the All Star Circuit of Champions is September 7 and 8.
