Four time and defending Lincoln Speedway track champion Brian Montieth prefers being the hunter as opposed to the hunted when running in lapped traffic, and this past weekend showed why. Lapped cars helped “The Edge” keep race leader Danny Dietrich within striking distance and when his opportunity came to take the lead on lap 25, Montieth pounced. Exiting corner two, Montieth daringly maneuvered around the lappers and Dietrich to take the point and streak away, as the only repeat winner at Lincoln this year stretched his advantage to 2.46 seconds over the final five laps en route to the win in his XXX chassis.
Following up a successful 2011 campaign, Jayson Ditsworth started 2012 the right way: back in victory lane! Racing at his home track of 34 raceway in Burlington IA, Ditsworth parlayed his outside front row starting spot into the first of what promises to be many more feature wins on Saturday night.
Billy Aton, aka Wild Bill, has been seeking success in his winged 360 sprint in the California wars for the past few years, and all the hard work and dedication paid off on Saturday. Running at Petaluma Speedway, a place that saw him find success in a wingless spec sprint, Aton picked up the lead on lap 12 and hung on through a myriad of cautions and reds to pick up his first winged sprint car win at Petaluma in his XXX chassis.
Congratulations go out to Kyle Moody and the Moody Motorsports #99 team for their win this past weekend. Kyle added his name to the long list of competitors in Central PA who have scored wins in their XXX chassis by taking the victory at Trail-Way Speedway on Friday night in 358 action.
In Australia, AJ McTaggart claimed his 3rd and 4th wins of the season in 1200 Litre Sprint action, taking the win on Friday the 6th at Grafton Speedway and Saturday the 7th at Lismore Speedway. McTaggart is gearing up for the Australian Litre Sprint Championship at Lismore on April 21st.
Congratulations to all our Team XXX drivers finding success all over the world. Triple X Race Co – Race Hard!
