Two of the most exciting drivers in the country were up to their winning ways over the weekend as Joey Saldana bested the World of Outlaws in Kentucky, while Jason Johnson backed up a hard charge Friday night, and scored his third Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour win on Saturday night in Texas.
Friday night at the Paducah International Raceway, Kasey Kahne Racing driver, Joey Saldana picked up his second win of the young season after an entertaining with Danny Smith for much of the race.
On a mid race restart, Saldana shot into the lead with is Factory Kahne Shock package and sailed to his second win of 2012, as he currently sits second in series points, just five digits behind Sammy Swindell.
The action got kicked off on a great note as Stevie Smith, making his season debut with the World of Outlaws, powered his CL Motorsports entry to quick time with his Factory Kahne package.
In Texas, Jason Johnson dominated the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event on Saturday night at Battleground Speedway.
The win marks Johnson’s third win with the series as he leads the championship standings.
Johnson’s win came just one night after a B main flip forced him to take a provisional and charge from 23rd to fourth.
