FOUR TO LITTLE 500 HALL OF FAME IN 2012

Anderson, IN – May 9, 2012 – Three well-known Little 500 competitors and track official are slated for induction into the Little 500 Hall of Fame on Saturday, May 26, part of ” Little 500 Week ” in Anderson, Indiana. The ” Class of 2012 ” will be formally inducted at a luncheon at Anderson Speedway.

From the Historic Era (1949-1975) are Finley Lane and the late Bob Luscomb while from the Modern Era comes Joe Conroy and Mike Blake.

Lane, of Poneto, IN, is a longtime track official particularly during the Sun Valley era. He produced Little 500 souvenir programs through many years with other family members. Also assisted former track owner, Joe Helping, in many capacities.

Luscomb, originally from Orlando, FL, was an influential Floridian driver who was the first Sunshine State driver to begin the annual trek in 1972. He made 6 starts from ’72 to ’77 while leading 24 laps. He continued as a car owner and finished 3rd with driver Dave Scarborough in 1979.

Blake, who currently lives in Indianapolis,IN, made 11 starts as a driver from 1976 to 2002 with a best finish of twelfth in 1998. He completed 3,829 laps as a driver. He has fielded 7 entries as a car owner since 2003 with a best finish of 8th with driver Brad Armstrong in 2008.

Conroy, from Brunswick, OH, was a car owner who fielded 8 entries from 1991-1998. His cars finished 3rd in 1995 and 1998. Led 269 laps.
