Clio, Michigan (Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012): Trevor Berry and the Berry Racing Incorporated Race Team made the long haul from their Clio, Michigan race shops to Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis located just West of the Circle City in Clermont, Indiana as the 2012 season opener for the Top Speed Fabrication Modifieds Tour were on hand in support of the USAC Silver Crown Series event at the immaculate speedway.
The Widow Wax 50 would see Berry on top of the charts after Qualifying and he was in contention throughout the 50-lap Feature on the fast 0.686 mile progressively banked paved oval and in the end, the 19-year-old would settle with a runner-up showing despite tagging the wall while going for the lead over eventual winner, Scott Tomasik.
“We had the best car at the racetrack and I’m a little disappointed that I made contact with the backstretch wall while trying to take the lead.” Berry stated after the race. “I can’t thank my guys enough they worked hard on the car all afternoon to give me a shot at the win and I can’t let chances like that get away. We’ll learn from this and move forward.” He added.
The Memorial Day Holiday Weekend will see Berry climb back behind the wheel of his #7 Fedewa Motorsports Non-Winged Sprint Car at Spartan Speedway in Mason, Michigan on Friday, May 25th as the track will be hosting Autograph Night at the ¼ (0.250) mile semi-banked paved oval located just south of the Great Lakes States’ Capital city of Lansing.
“I’m looking forward to running the Sprint Car again. We’re leading the points and I hope to maintain the lead and possibly gain some more on my competitors,” He continued. “I know my car owner and teammate will be gunning for me, but I’m up for the challenge.” He ended.
In his first career start behind the wheel of the Non-Winged Sprint Car, he would beat his teammate and car owner, Tom Fedewa in a thrilling battle and for the remainder of the 2012 racing season, Berry will make a run at the Track Championship at Spartan for Fedewa Motorsports as well as make limited appearances in the Non-Winged Sprinter at near-by Springport Motor Speedway in Springport, Michigan.
When not running the Sprint car, Berry will pull his open-wheeled Modified out of the Clio, Michigan race shop and race a limited schedule with the Full Throttle Modifieds Series as well as make limited appearances in weekly competition close to home.
For the 2012 racing season, Berry’s #7 Non-Winged Sprint Car from the Fedewa Motorsports stable as well as his #7 open-wheeled Modified with a Port City Racecars chassis has sponsor decals on each machine from; Extreme Indoor Kart Racing, Rat-Tech Engine Service, Davis Racing Equipment, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Go Pro Cameras, Monogramming by Martha, Andrea’s Place Styling Salon, and M.P.H.
