Having one of his best statistical season’s to date, Bud Kaeding picked up his eighth and ninth wins of 2012 as he won both the USAC West Coast 360 and Rebel Cup Series races Saturday night at Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA, backing up a second place finish Friday night.
“What can you say?,” said Kaeding. “It is just one of those years where we are good anywhere we go, and in anything we get to race. I can’t thank everyone who made this weekend possible.”
In the USAC West Coast 360 class, Kaeding was the third fastest of the 19 cars assembled as he piloted the always potent BZE No.29 machine.
Grabbing second in his heat, Kaeding and his Alviso Rock/K&N Filters/FK Shocks entry lined up for the 30-lap feature on the front row, which was bad news for the field.
Jumping out to the lead as the race went green, and Kaeding simply dominated the race, as he was never seriously challenged for the point.
The only thing that slowed the Campbell, CA driver was a flat left rear he developed under a caution with seven laps remaining, but the veteran driver was able to score USAC gold.
“Our non-wing car is always awesome, and tonight was no different,” he explained. “You’re supposed to win when you start on the front row, and luckily we were able to do our job.”
Competing in the Rebel Cup Series winged division aboard the Werbach Motorsports Kaeding was equally as dominant.
Starting the night with the fast time award, Kaeding then won his heat, which put him in the inversion where he ultimately put his machine in the second row of the feature.
Underway, Kaeding got to the lead on the sixth lap and simply put on a clinic as he scored his ninth win of the 2012 season.
Kaeding was also in action aboard the Werbach machine on Friday night in Watsonville, where he scored a second place finish.
Kaeding would like to thank Kaeding Performance, Sprint Car Innovations, Alviso Rock, BZE, Factory Kahne Shocks, Racing Optics, K&N Filters, Yak Graphics, ButlerBuilt, and Brown and Miller for their continued support
