One week after disappointing results with the All Star Circuit of Champions, Lance Dewease put together two impressive runs at Williams Grove and Port Royal en route to posting three straight nights of top ten finishes with his worst finish being a seventh place run.
Kicking off the weekend was the famed Williams Grove Speedway against a very stout field of cars.
A bad heat race pill draw put LD in the back of his heat race on a very narrow and fast racetrack.
“The draw killed us at Williams Grove,” said Dewease. “We started near the back on a very narrow track and couldn’t get by anyone.”
Transferring to the feature, Dewease lined his Viper Risk Management Group/ Hank Performance Parts/ViperVenom Fuels machine up in the 17th spot, on what turned into a very racy surface.
Dewease navigated nicely through the filed as he charged his way up 10 spots to claim a seventh place finish at the line.
“The car was pretty good in the feature, and it’s a shame that we started that far back in the field,” he continued.
Saturday night saw LD and his Penske Shocks/Wings Unlimited/Morrison Racing Engines powered machine head to Port Royal Speedway.
Lining up in the 11th position on this night again put Dewease behind the eight ball, but the seasoned veteran put on quite an impressive array of passing, as he entertained the Port Royal crowd.
Dewease worked the top side of the speedway to perfection as he planted his right rear against the cushion, and paraded around the speedway, and worked his way up to a fourth place finish as he chased Ryan Taylor to the stripe.
Sunday the team traveled to Susquehanna, and struggled.
“We were simply awful at Susquehanna,” said Dewease.
Getting through his heat, Dewease put his machine on the front row of the feature, and faded back to the sixth spot as the race concluded.
“We missed it, and blew it,” he continued. “It’s important to capitalize when you start on the front row, and we just didn’t make it happen.”
Dewease would like to thank Viper Risk Management Group, Wings Unlimited, Hank’s Performance Products, Schaeffer Racing Oils, Penske Racing Shock,s FK Rodends, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, DMI Racing Components, Astro Titanium, Morrison Racing Engines, Tom Shockey Collision, Kirkey Seats, FW Graphics, WRT Web Designs, WRT SpeedWerx, ViperVenom Fuels, and Schoenfeld Headers for their continued support.
ON TAP: LD30 and his team will now gear up for a busy stretch as they are in action five nights this weekend for a mini speedweek, leading them directly into PA Speedweek. Dewease is scheduled to be in action Friday at Williams Grove, Saturday at Wayne County, Sunday in Waynesfield, Monday back in Waynce County, and Tuesday in Sharon.
