J&J’S SCORE WINS ALL ACROSS THE MAP

From J&J

McKENZIE, TN – (June 20) There was a familiar theme at dirt tracks across the globe. There were a number of J&J Auto Racing Sprint cars parked in victory lanes. Chad Layton led the J&J brigade of drivers to the winners circle with his victory at Port Royal Speedway. Patrick Bourke won twice competing with the United Rebel Sprint Series. DJ Foos continued his strong season and Derek Hagar made it two wins in two weeks. Danny Holtgraver made it two straight wins at Mercer Raceway Park. Mike Kertscher won his second IRA Sprints event of the year while James McFadden won in Australia and Dale Howard, Jan Howard and Tyler Drueke were all first time winners.

USCS – PHENIX CITY

Derek Hagar raced from 12th to first in Friday night’s USCS sprint car feature win at East Alabama Motor Speedway. He drove Jay Hancok’s No. 1a J&J to victory lane, which was his third of the 2012 season and eighth-career USCS triumph.

Morgan Turpen (No. 80 J&J) finished third, while Eric Riggins, Jr., came home sixth in the No. 47 J&J. Matt Linder (No. 1x J&J) finished eighth, one spot ahead of Johnny Bridges (No. 07 J&J), who set fast time and won the dash.

UNITED REBEL SPRINT SERIES

Patrick Bourke broke into 2012 action in a winning way scoring wins last Friday night in Holyoke, Colorado and at I-70 Speedway in Fort Morgan, Colo., Saturday. He drove his No. 27 J&J from the 10th-starting spot Saturday and was the first to the finish line in the 20-lap main event.

PORT ROYAL SPEEDWAY

Chad Layton scored a flag-to-flag victory Saturday at Port Royal Speedway behind the wheel of the Middleswarth No. 7 J&J. Layton drew the pole position in the 25-lap feature and was into lapped traffic by lap seven. Layton worked traffic well throughout the race and stormed away to capture his sixth career victory at the track.

FREMONT SPEEDWAY

DJ Foos won for the eighth time in 2012 Saturday at Fremont Speedway in the No. 11 J&J. The win for Foos was his third at Fremont.

“Lapped traffic was hard to get around,” said the winner. “I kind of just maneuvered my way around. My brother (Matt) said they were messing everyone up behind me. I couldn’t get through turns three and four early. I finally just manned up and drove through it.”

EAGLE RACEWAY

Tyler Drueke raced the No.12 J&J to victory Saturday at Eagle Raceway in the Budweiser 360 Sprint car division. The victory was his first-ever behind the wheel of a 360 Sprint car.

“I was surprised that no one ran the top,” admitted the winner. “I watched the track and saw the top was there. So, I just had to diamond it all the way around. I just want to thank my mother and father and Terry Mack.”

MERCER RACEWAY PARK

Danny Holtgraver made it consecutive wins at Mercer Raceway Park, but this one was anything but easy. The driver of the No. D4 J&J started on the pole, but didn’t lead the race until lap 10. He then was part of three-car battle up front with Paul McMahan and Rob Chaney. After McMahan’s run ended prematurely, Chaney held off Holtgraver until the final corner, when the youngster dove in and took the win at the flagstand.

RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY

The Howard brothers were victorious in W. Memphis, Ark., this past Saturday night. Dale raced the No. 47 J&J to victory in the 305 class, while Jan was the winner of the annual St. Jude Night race. Jan led every lap of the feature event behind the wheel of the No. 46 J&J.

ARCHERFIELD SPEEDWAY

James McFadden has come close to winning twice in the Paul Morris Motorsport No. 67 J&J and Saturday, the third time was a charm. He opened the evening by qualifying second and started the feature 10th. Halfway through the 30-lap race he was in the top three and on lap 21, he took the lead.

“It was great to get into the winner’s circle for the Paul Morris Motorsport team,” said McFadden.”We had made a number of changes going into the meeting to make me feel more comfortable and it worked out with the best possible result.”

IRA SPRINTS

Mike Kertscher put on another show in Captain Jim’s Yacht Sales backed No. 80k J&J in Bumper-to-Bumper Interstate Racing Association (IRA) Sprint action. This time it was at Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday and it was final lap pass for the lead that led to Kertscher scoring his second victory of the season and 16th career IRA triumph.
