Haubstadt, IN — (August 9, 2012) — The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series will be making its next stop at Joe Spiker’s Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, IN. The track is one of the most active inIndiana having held 22 race programs so far this season. The upcoming August 18th appearance will be a great opportunity for sprint car fans to see what promises to be one of the most competitive fields of the season. The track plays host to a number of drivers capable of winning a main event. Eleven different drivers have already visited victory lane this season. MSCS has held 8 events in 2012 and those eight events have produced 8 different winners!

Jon Stanbrough of Brownsburg, IN, continues to lead the 2012 Hoosier Tire MSCS Points standings. Last weekend’s racing action did serve to tighten the overall points standings but the top two positions did not change. Robert Ballou is second in the standings. Kyle Cummins, Hoosier Sprint Nationals winner Jonathan Hendrick, and 2011 MSCS Champion Brady Short all moved up and are now third through fifth in the standings. Only 41 points separate the first five drivers in the standings and MSCS awards 40 points to the feature winner each race.

Chase Stockon leads the second five in the current driver standings. However he is just 45 points behind the leader. He was one of six or more MSCS regulars that missed the last MSCS show in order to race at all five USAC events leading up to the Ultimate Challenge in Iowa.

Hunter Schuerenberg, Damion Gardner, and the Fitzpatrick brothers now make up the remainder of the second five. Levi Jones and Dakota Jackson are just outside the top ten! This race poses a significant
opportunity for drivers to move up in the standings, recover higher positions in the standings, and/or win the $3,000 going to the feature winner.

Chet Williams of Newburgh, IN, continues to lead the points for the drivers eligible to become the 2012 MSCS Rookie of the Year.

Williams’ night ended early at the Hoosier Sprint Nationals after he flipped during hot laps. Brian Karraker of Dongola, IL, is closest to Williams in the rookie standings. Williams’s best finish has been
an 11th at Terre Haute while Karraker placed 12th at Haubstadt. While both are looking for a first top 10 finish with MSCS another MSCS Rookie Josh Burton has already won 2 features this season at Lincoln Park Speedway where he competes on a regular basis.

Racing on the 18th at Lincoln Park Speedway will get underway at 7 P.M. Eastern Time with hot laps an hour earlier. The MSCS Sprints will be using the passing points system during the heat races to
determine which 16 drivers will transfer to the A Main. The other 4 starting spots will go to the top four finishers in the B Main. The A Main will be for a distance of 30 laps. The program will also
include three other classes. Besides the sprints the Open Wheel Modifieds, Super Stocks, and Bombers will be racing!
