Lance Dewease was in action for a pair of events over the weekend, as he took to the Williams Grove Speedway, and the Lincoln Speedway, with a fifth place finish at Lincoln highlighting his weekend.
Taking to the Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night for the Hank Gentzler Manufacturers Appreciation Night, Dewease kicked his night off by picking up a heat race win and earning a spot in the 10-car dash to set the lineup for the feature event.
An eighth place finish in the dash, put the Fayetteville, PA driver in the fourth row of the 25-lap, $4,000 to win feature event.
Using a very strong start, Dewease had his Conduit Connections/Wings Unlimited/Hanks Performance Parts No.30C on rails as he began a torrid charge to the front from his eighth starting spot.
By the 15th lap, Dewease had worked up to the third spot as he and a gaggle of cars were all in the mix for positions 1-5.
As he battled with Bent Marks, Danny Dietrich, and Gerald McIntyre, Dewease ultimately got shuffled back to the fifth spot at the stripe as the pack constantly swapped positions.
On Friday night, things didn’t go as well for Dewease as he had his fair share of troubles at the Williams Grove Speedway.
After winning his heat race, Dewease lined up in the fourth row for the feature event. Dewease was unable to gain any ground early as he still ran in the seventh spot on a lap three caution, and lined up on the tails of Marks and Chad Layton.
As the race restarted, Dewease struggled a bit, as he had fallen back to the ninth spot over the next 11 laps, when the red flew for a wreck in turns two. With work being done to Dewease’s car under the red, he was ultimately sent to the back since it was under closed red circumstances.
With the changes not helping Dewease, he opted to pull of the speedway a few laps before the finish.
“Friday night we just struggled, and we took a shot and did some work under red to see if we could sort of right the ship,” he said. “It didn’t work, and we ended up pulling in. Saturday night at Lincoln was a fun race. We were in a pack in the top five, and we swapped positions lap after lap. Though we got shuffled back to fifth, we had a strong car, and ended up out of sequence so to speak towards the end.”
Dewease would like to thank Conduit Connections, Wings Unlimited, Hank’s Performance Products, Schaeffer Racing Oils, Penske Racing Shocks, FK Rodends, Keizer Aluminum Wheels, DMI Racing Components, Astro Titanium, Morrison Racing Engines, Tom Shockey Collision, Kirkey Seats, FW Graphics, WRT Web Designs, WRT SpeedWerx, ViperVenom Fuels, and Schoenfeld Headers for their continued support.
ON TAP: Dewease is slated for another double header this coming weekend as he will be at Williams Grove on Friday and at Port Royal on Saturdya night.
