Ohsweken, ON — (December 18, 2012) — Three time NASCAR champion Tony Stewart has been a regular visitor – and winner – at Ohsweken Speedway over the past two years, and now he’s going to join speedway owners Glenn and Curt Styres at a Rochester Knighthawks lacrosse game.
The Knighthawks are owned and operated by Curt Styres’ Arrow Express Sports company, and are the most recent winners of the National Lacrosse League championship. Stewart will be in attendance when the Knighthawks take on the Washington Stealth on Saturday, February 2nd at The Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial in Rochester, New York.
“I want to thank Curt, Glenn, and the entire Knighthawks organization for the invitation to attend my first lacrosse game,” Stewart stated recently. “We’ve got some loyal fans in NASCAR, but I know the Knighthawks have a pretty passionate following as well. I’m looking forward to meeting some of these fans, and enjoying the game with Curt and Glenn.”
Stewart has not only visited Ohsweken Speedway, but dominated the races he has entered there. He has won the last two World of Outlaws Sprint Car series events held at the track, won a Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Car feature in July, and finished third in his first Corr/Pak start in 2011 after starting 15th. Don’t expect Stewart to be in the middle of the action in Rochester though:
“Curt asked me if I wanted to suit up, but I’m not sure I’d be able to get up and down the field more than a time or two before I needed a Coke. We’ll leave it to the professionals to put on a great show for the fans, and hopefully come out with a victory over Washington.
“I’m not sure what to expect. We never had lacrosse growing up in Indiana. I know the sport is known as the fastest game on two feet so I would anticipate a lot of back and forth action similar to hockey.”

Tony Stewart has claimed the feature win in each of the last two World of Outlaws Sprint Car series events at Ohsweken, including his first career win with the series in 2011.
