Rio Vista, CA – (February 18, 2013)–The King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series is pleased to announce that Sycamore, Illinois based Auto Meter Products Inc. will return as a contingency partner for the 2013 racing season.

Since 1957 Auto Meter has been driven to provide performance enthusiasts with the information they need to win, revolutionizing the way that racers and vehicle builders think about instrumentation and vehicle electronics for more than 50 years.

During each of the 28 KWS events this season Auto Meter will be awarding a total of $150 in certificates. The breakdown will be $100 for the winner of the A-main and $50 each for the fifth place finisher and 10th place finisher in the feature. An additional $1000 in certificates will be given out at the championship awards banquet.

“It’s great to have the support once again of an industry leader such as Auto Meter involved with the King of the West Sprint Car Series,” said KWS Operations Manager George Hague. “We’re excited about our contingency program once again this year and we will have more announcements coming up documenting the whole program for 2013.”

To be eligible for Auto Meter Products Inc. contingency awards with the King of the West Sprint Car Series, competitors must run the Auto Meter decal on their car. The decals will be provided each night at the KWS command center in the pit area.

The 2013 racing season for the King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series will get underway on Saturday April 20 at the Antioch Speedway in Antioch, California. Three-time & defending series champion Jonathan Allard looks to open the season in strong fashion, but will face challenges from a number of competitors at the always action packed one-third mile clay oval.

Among the drivers looking to steal the top spot from Allard this season is Sacramento’s Kyle Hirst, who takes over the seat of the Dennis & Teresa Roth owned HR Cattle No. 83jr sprint car. Hirst last year drove the Roth Motorsports mount to a King of the West Series victory in Antioch and also claimed the 50-lap finale at the annual Trophy Cup in Tulare.

Just a few of the other title contenders are sure to include Sacramento’s Willie Croft, who is behind the wheel of the Clyde Lamar owned 3c machine this year, 13-time champion Brent Kaeding, former titlist Jason Statler, Clovis fan favorite Peter Murphy, past Silver Dollar Speedway 410 champ Bobby McMahan, former Trophy Cup titlist Craig Stidham and more.
