Sydney, AU — (March 9, 2013) — Jeremy Cross looked untouchable as he stormed to victory in front of a bumper Sydney crowed.

The front row saw James Thompson and Jackson Delamont squaring off but it was the youngster Delamont who had the margin early. Delamont looked strong but made a slight mistake in turn one on lap six which let eventual race winner Jeremy Cross through. From that moment on Cross never looked back and later admitted that he finished the race with only one tear off left. The first caution came out on lap eighteen when Kelly Linigen’s right rear tyre exploded on the front straight. This brought the field back together but Delamont had nothing for the lightning quick Cross. Delamont held on for second which backed up a terrific performance last time out which saw him take the win. James Thompson had a consistent night coming home in third which helps him in the Championship. Track Championship leader Ian Madsen experienced a difficult night almost going over in turns three and four throughout the closing stages, then subsequently spun on the back straight a lap later. He fought back to finish fifteenth. So the rest of the top ten saw Danny Reidy fourth, Ben Atkinson fifth, followed by Matt Smith, Jamie Veal, Craig Brady, Warren Ferguson and Max Dumesny.

Earlier in the night, Warren Ferguson set quick time with a 12.495 second lap.

Heats went the way of Ferguson, Damian Abbott, Cross and Madsen.

The only major incident of the night was a frightening flip from rookie Matt Craft. He got airborne after a massive wheelstand down the main straight. He emerged from the upside-down race car A-OK.

In a league of his own Nathan Smee dominated the Speedcar A-Main by winning over half a lap. Ian Black fought well to finish second and after going upside down in early heat racing, Anthony Brien charged home for third.

In an all new machine Darryl Grimson claimed the Late Model feature. Nathan Disney was second and a terrific drive from Tim Bink saw him finish in third.

In the Legend Car feature Brett Mitchell took the win over Mark Heaton and Todd Davey.
