From Jake Langois
Time to make it official, the Can Am Outlaw Sprint series releases their schedule for teams and fans to follow this season. In this inaugural season, the series will visit five different tracks in two provinces and one state. Eight events are scheduled over four separate week end. The showcase of this first season is a super ‘’sprintacular‘’ three date week end in August for what could be, the first ever Canadian Triple Crown.
CAOSS representatives have worked hard to come up with a very affordable touring sprint series for eastern Canadian sprinters. A place of their own, eight events along the St-Lawrence seaway, seven on Canadian soil and one event in N.Y. state, most of all a championship of their own. This strip of the St-Lawrence seaway has produced some of the best sprinters in Canada. The likes of Steve ‘’ fireball ‘’ Poirier, Rick ‘’ the joyceville jet ‘’ Wilson, Alain Bergeron and Lee Ladouceur have thrilled fans over the years. Other rising stars are emerging from the same scene, Michael Parent, Patrick Vigneault, Tyler Rand and Paul Pekkonen to name a few.
Eastern sprinters will perform at exceptional racing facilities, all the racetracks on the circuit stand with the outmost respect in the dirt racing world. State of the art installations, premiere track preparation and outstanding safety records are just a few of their qualities. Canadian sprinters deserve the best tracks possible and fans deserve the best Canadian sprinters there is out there .
With nearly 20 sprint cars in Québec and a dozen or so in the Brockville Cornwall area, add the odd 5 or 6 American teams along the seaway and you have a very interesting pool of wing warriors. When adding these local teams to the visiting series on the schedule, you get an impressive sprint car show. The kind of show that leaves fans, racers and promoters thrilled.
The north eastern track promoters will thrill their race fan with the highest sprint car competition level available from a touring series in Canada. Sprinters will be rewarded with strong purse and fans with sprintacular action ..!
