DJ Netto had a very wild, and exciting weekend while competing with the World of Outlaws at the Thunderbowl in Tulare, CA.
“It was eventful, but at the end of the day, we were pretty good, and I am pleased with that,” Netto said.
Saturday night, saw Netto light up the social media world by way of the B main.
After timing his Netto Agriculture/Penny Newman Grain/Bogies Auto Parts entry 28th quickest, the youngster just missed out on transferring to the feature from his heat as he scored a seventh place finish, putting him 11th in the B main.
With the track slicking off, Netto put his machine in no-mans lan, and ran the boards like a season vet, and marched his way up to the third spot late in the feature.
Chasing down Jason Sides, Netto made slight contact with him on the bottom on three and four, and Sides went spinning.
Once re-fired, Sides made contact with Netto under the caution, causing top wing damage, but Netto was able to keep it fired, and hold his spot.
Falling out of contention to transfer, the World of Outlaws granted Netto a provisional into the feature event, due to the on track incident.
Unfortunately for Netto, a huge wheel stand in the feature, led to a hard stop, damaging his oil tank, and ending his night early.
“We got going pretty good on Saturday, and overall I think the World of Outlaws made the right decision with what happened.”
Friday night, Netto timed his Vanderpol Enterprises/BR Motorsports machine in 18th quickest and then saw him score a fourth place finish in his heat.
In the feature, Netto struggled on the rough track, and scored a 20th place finish.
“Overall it was a much better weekend than what we had in Las Vegas,” he said. “I’m getting much more comfortable in the 410, and hope we can continue to get better.”
