(Perris, CA, April 2, 2013) Southern California racing fans looking for motorsports entertainment in the month of April will have no farther to look than Perris Auto Speedway. The track will supply four different disciplines of automotive competition this month starting off with a show headlined by the popular Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Cars this Saturday night, April 6th. Also on the docket this month will be the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars on April 13th, the Amsoil Oil Twins PASSCAR Series on April 20th and the first of four 2013 Nights of Destruction on April 27th.
In addition to the Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Cars, this week’s card will also include the ever growing PAS Senior Sprint Car Series, the debut of The PAS Young Gun Sprint Cars and the WRA Vintage Cars. The Senior class is for drivers 45-years of age and older. The Young Guns will feature drivers from 14-21. The WRA features some of the most beautiful vintage racecars on the face of the earth and some drivers who have already passed their 80th birthday. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM on Saturday and the first race will be at 7:00.
Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, Indiana, who won the season opening sprint car race at The PAS four weeks ago, comes into Saturday as the USAC/CRA point leader, but that is going to change. On Saturday, Clauson will be at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Indiana for the USAC National Sprint Car Series race. Huntington Beach driver Nic Faas or his new teammate Damion Gardner of Concord are destined to take over the point lead on Saturday. Driving for car owner Mark Alexander, they come into the race tied for second place in the championship standings with 187-points. That is only 23-markers behind Clauson. Bud Kaeding, who hails from Campbell, California, and veteran Rickie Gaunt of Torrance round out the top five in points.
Strangely missing from the top portion of the standing is Temecula’s Mike Spencer. The 31-year-old Cal Poly Pomona engineering graduate is the five-time defending series champion, but comes into Saturday’s event ranked ninth, 106-points behind the leader. Spencer was leading the main event at The PAS season opener when he blew an engine on lap 7 and ended up finishing 18th. The popular driver got married two weeks ago and will be returning from his Hawaiian Honeymoon just in time for Saturday’s race.
On April 13th, the world’s fastest dirt track sprint cars, the legendary World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars, will be making their only 2013 appearance in Southern California. In fact, it will be their last appearance on the west coast until late August and early September when they come out for a brief swing in Oregon, Washington and three races in Northern California. Advance tickets for the April 13th Outlaws show at The PAS are available at the following link: PAS World of Outlaws Advance Tickets
The Amsoil Oil Twins.com PASSCAR Series will stage its second round of the 2013 campaign on April 20th. The popular 1-800LoanMart Street Stock Series will headline that show. Also included on that night will be the Modifieds, Super Stocks, Pick-A-Part American Factory Stocks and the CDCRA Dwarf Cars.
Rounding out the month on April 27th, will be the crazy “Night of Destruction.” It will be the first of four “Nights of Destruction” in 2013 and will feature a Trailer Figure 8 race, regular Figure 8 race, zany anything goes Demo Cross and Spectator races. The PAS Nights of Destruction received national attention last year when featured on “Art Mann Presents” on the AXSTV Network.
The entire 2013 PAS schedule is listed at the end of this release.
