Trio of Top Ten’s for Dewease

In action at the Williams Grove Speedway, Port Royal Speedway, and Susquehanna Raceway Park over the weekend, Lance Dewease and his Heffner Racing team pocketed three top-ten finishes.

On a very cold a gloomy day at the Williams Grove Speedway Friday, Dewease opened his night up by moving from his fourth starting spot in heat race number three, to a third place finish.

Based on season points at the track, Dewease would line his Lelands.com/Conduit Connections/Pasquirellos Auto machine up in the sixth row of the feature event.

On a very locked down track, which fans were treated to a ton of vapor trails of off the competitors wings, Dewease stayed in the 10th spot all night, and would go on to finish there.

“She was fast all night, and passing was pretty tough,” he said. “With the handicap system here, we started in the back, which is a good thing in the large scheme of things, we just were not able to get rolling.”

Saturday night, the scene shifted to the Port Royal Speedway, and Dewease kicked the night off by scoring a heat win aboard his Penske Shocks/Wings Unlimited/Brown and Miller machine and wound up starting on the pole of the feature event.

Falling into second on the start, Dewease fended off Dough Esh for a pair of laps, before Esh took over the second spot on the fourth lap.

In the third spot, Dewease kept his Keizer Wheels/DMI Components entry in shouting distance of the lead duo, but on the sixth lap he fell back to fourth as Dylan Cisney over took him for third.

Working in traffic, Dewease would end the night by scoring a fifth place finish.

Sunday, Dewease concluded a busy weekend by hitting the Susquehanna Raceway Park.

Starting in the second row for his heat race, Dewease scored a second place finish aboard his Schoenfeld Headers/Hanks Performance Products/FK Rod Ends machine, and ultimately started the feature on the front row.

The team missed the set up a touch in the feature, as Dewease would have his share of struggles in the A main.

Falling into third on the start, Dewease chased down Mark Smith and Fred Rahmer, as the trio got into lapped traffic following a early caution.

In traffic Dewease guessed wrong on a pair of occasions, and slipped back to the seventh spot, as the caution flew on the 19th lap.

When the race resumed, Dewease would hold his spot, and would cross the stripe in the seventh spot.

“We were good at SSP, but unfortunately I made a couple mistakes in traffic, and we ended up with a seventh place finish,” he said. “We had a decent weekend, but we can be a ton better.”

Dewease and his Heffner Racing team would like to thank Lelands.com, Conduit Connections, Pasquirellos Auto Shop, Penske Racing Shocks, Wings Unlimited, Brown and Miller Racings Solutions, Keizer Wheels, DMI Racing Components, Schoenfeld Headers, Hanks Performance Products, FK Rod Ends, Viper Venom fuels, ATL Fuel Cells, Schaeffer Racing Oils, Astro Titanium, Tom Shockey Collision, Kirkey Racing Seats, Michael Graphics, Valley Forge Inc., Bell Helmets, WRT Web Designs, and WRT SpeedWerx for their support.
