Chico, CA – April 26, 2013…We are happy to announce that the fan group known as HoservilleCA will once again be partnering with the heat races at the “Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial” next Saturday May 4. This is the 11th consecutive season that HoservilleCA will be a part of the heat races at the event.
Each 10-lap heat race winner on Saturday May 4 will stop on the front stretch to be interviewed and receive a free Hoosier Right Rear Tire plus Five Sleeves of Tear Offs. Each driver will also receive a trophy to hand out to one lucky child in the grandstands.
HoservilleCA has been a part of the heat races at the “Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial” since 2003 and it has grown to be a major part of the event each year.
This season the heat races at the Bradway will be even more lucrative than normal, as Napa Valley based Abreu Vineyards is putting up $500 cash to each heat race winner. In addition to that Red Line Oil will also be donating a case of gear oil to each heat winner. All of the awards on the line are sure to make these the best heat races you will see all year in California.
The “Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial” pays tribute to fallen race car driver Dave Bradway Jr., who lost his life in a Sprint Car crash at Skagit Speedway’s Dirt Cup in 1987. Bradway Jr. was a driver destined for stardom in Sprint Car racing and the event held in his memory has become a cornerstone for the King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series each season.
The 23rd edition of the event next Saturday May 4 will also be the only appearance in 2013 for the King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway.
Locally based Jonathan Allard captured his fifth “Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial” victory last season, making him the winningest driver in event history. Allard will be gunning for number six next weekend, but faces stiff challenges from a number of top drivers, including former Bradway champion Shane Stewart originally from Bixby, Oklahoma.
Keep in mind that this is T-Shirt year at the “Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial” so be sure and bring some money to pick up your commemorative event shirt that turned out great, designed by artist extraordinaire Randy Frank. Bradway shirts are $20 and will be available at the Durica Family RV in the campground over the weekend.
There will be extra money & awards on the line all night long next Saturday. The “Carwash Mike Fast Time Award” currently stands at $1100 cash plus the custom Jagermeister Trophy & Coors Light Cowboy Hat, along with a $100 certificate from BR Motorsports. The “Abreu Vineyards Hard Charger Award” will pay $1000 cash to the hard charger in the 40-lap A-main. The hard charger will also receive the usual KWS $200 certificate from Pit Stop USA & $50 certificate from KSE Racing Products.
The 40-lap A-main will also pay a guaranteed $4500-to-win, courtesy donations from Butler Built Performance, Red Line Oil and Roth Motorsports. Dave and Diane Durica have once again collected lap money for the night. Each lap of the A-main and Last Chance Qualifier will pay $100 to be distributed among the top three each lap. The leader of the lap gets $50, second $30 and third $20. Laps are almost gone so if you want one be sure and contact the Durica’s asap at 916-988-5958! If you would like to donate anything to the event please let the Durica’s know as well.
The Last Chance Qualifier also will feature an extra perk during the night, with $1000 cash going to the winner courtesy of Abreu Vineyards. If a driver could lead all 12-laps in the Last Chance Qualifier and with lapped money added in, they would go home with $1600 just for the LCQ!
On behalf of the King of the West Sprint Car Series we would like to thank everyone for their support of the “Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial” thus far. We hope to add even more next week and can’t wait until next Saturday for our only visit of the season to Dennis Gage’s Silver Dollar Speedway.
