Elko, MN — (May 1, 2013) — With the forecast for the remainder of the week predicted to be cold and wet, Elko Speedway decided to pull the plug early and cancel the Spring Dirt Nationals. Unable to properly prepare the racing surface with cold, wet conditions and with little chance to draw much of a crowd, it’s really the only decision track promoters can make given the adverse weather we’ve encountered so far this spring. Elko will still have a live band on Friday night starting a 8:00PM, but there will not be any racing until the much-anticipated World of Outlaws debut there on Friday May 10 along with the non-winged UMSS Traditional Sprints.
The UMSS Non-Wing sprint car opener scheduled for Friday at St. Croix Valley Raceway is cancelled as well.
