SYRACUSE, NY – It will be 17 years to the day when Bobby Parrow put his sprinter in the Selinsgrove Speedway victory lane as the winner of the first ever Empire Super Sprint (ESS) event.  Now the Lucas Oil backed tour celebrating its 30th Anniversary will be out in force to put on an exciting show in front of the Pa. Posse fans.

It is billed as the Mach 1 Spectacular, the chassis builder from Mechanicsburg, Pa. has added some spice to the purse in making the 25 lap full point event a nice $3,000 to win with $300 set up just to take the green. Mach 1 Chassis is a huge supporter of ESS for the second year in row by also sponsoring the hard luck award

where the driver chosen receives a complete Mach 1 frame.

Steve Poirier fired the first shot by winning the opener back in April at Can-Am in what he hopes will be a run for his fourth championship.  The Port Leyden, “Young Guns” of Dylan Swiernik and Kevin Ward Jr. followed the Quebec star and they also have a love for the Selinsgrove half-mile.

But, the ESS invasion will be stout. Defending champion Chuck Hebing, two-time ESS champ Lance Yonge, 2009 champ Justin Barger along with Shawn Donath, Paul Kinney, Michael Parent, Sammy Reakes IV, Cory Sparks, Jeff Cook,  Jason Barney, Patrick Vigneault, Paul Habeck, Doug Emery,  Joe Trenca, Dave Axton, Steve Collins and Jordan Thomas are looking to make the trip.

What will make this event unique is the quest for bragging rights as the Posse will be looking to defend the home turf. Defending Selinsgrove champion Pat Cannon will be leading the brigade but it will be a who’s who list as well. Mach 1 fabricator Mark Smith will be in the field and also expected will be Dave Ely, T.J. Stutts, Nate Snyder, Duane Mausteller, Bryn Gohn, Tim Hogue and more.

This will be the second appearance of the year for some of the ESS stars as many made it down on April 6th for the Spring Shootout which was taken by NASCAR Sprint Cup star Tony Stewart himself.

It will be a special two-for-one night as the regular Selinsgrove 358 sprints will be in action as well which should see the pit are full with some 50 different winged machines.

Car Mate Custom Built Trailers brings you the heats, Fastenal is sponsoring the Cobra Coaches dash event all leading up to the Mach 1 Spectacular with a cool $3,000 going to the winner.

The Lucas Oil ESS winged warriors, Selinsgrove Speedway…tradition and it will be excitement guaranteed!
