WINNIPEG, MB (May 19, 2013) Following a 5 year absence, the NOSA Sprint Cars will be returning to Winnipeg’s Red River Co-op Speedway on Thursday, June 13.

The last NOSA-sanctioned Manitoba appearance by the group based out of Grand Forks, North Dakota was the 4th annual NAPA Auto Parts Mid-Canada Sprint Car Challenge on Thursday, July 10, 2008. The race was won by Grand Forks native Mark Dobmeier who unseated the perennial winner of the event, Winnipeg’s Lou Kennedy Jr.
NOSA was booked for a show in Winnipeg in 2010, however a rainout cancelled the event and no followup date was announced.
In 2011 and 2012, Red River Co-op Speedway hosted the AllStar Circuit of Champions tour. These dates were met with limited success, producing similar car counts as a regional show on race night.
June 13 once again promises to showcase the very best in regional Open Wheel racing and as usual will provide exciting, unpredictable dirt-slinging action that only Sprint Car racing can provide.
The NOSA Sprints can be seen at their home track of River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota every Friday night.
