R.J. Johnson makes a bid for a fifth consecutive victory in the 2013 USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series this Saturday at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz.
Johnson won the series opener and has five wins in seven starts this year. That’s resulted in a 69-point lead over Charles Davis Jr., who has a win, two seconds and a third.
Johnson and Mike Martin have been the winners so far this year at Queen Creek. Martin stands third in the points, 84 back of the leader.
Johnson now has seven USAC wins in the state of Arizona, just one behind the quartet of A.J. Foyt, Dave Steele, Bryan Clauson and Damion Gardner. Davis also has seven career Arizona wins under USAC sanction.
