Hanover, PA — (June 28, 2013) — Isaac Sneeringer’s defense of his 358 sprint feature victory last Friday night at Trail-Way Speedway will have to wait at least another week.
The Hanover driver joined dozens of other scheduled race teams on the sidelines on Friday night when a severe thunderstorm, including strong winds and hail, struck the Adams County oval at about 3 p.m., forcing track officials to wave off the program.
In addition to the 358 sprints, the track was scheduled to host 600cc micro sprints, street stocks and limited stocks on Friday night.
Friday’s cancellation was the fifth of the 2013 season, but the first in June. Trail-Way had to cancel back-to-back programs in April because of weather. Rain also prevented the scheduled programs on May 10 and May 31. The Second Annual Armin Hostetter Classic, an AMA short-track motorcycle program on May 18, was curtailed to heat races when rain hit the track as evening approached.
Trail-Way will throw the green flag on its July card the on Friday night (7/5) with its annual Street Stock Championship. The 7:30 p.m. program also contains 358 sprints, 358 late models and 270cc micro sprints.
The same divisions which were scheduled Friday night – the 358 sprints, 600cc micro sprints, limited stocks and street stocks – will return the next Friday (7/12) in another 7:30 p.m. program.
