After a late draw in qualifying yielded the 15th fastest time among the 32 drivers, Dollansky started on the pole of heat three and raced to the checkered flag in 2nd behind Tim Kaeding to earn a spot in the dash. In the 6-lap dash the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim started ninth on the grid and finished 8th.
When three attempts to start the 40-lap A-Main resulted in three cautions, the fourth try was successful until a lap 3 caution when the MobileStar #7 powered up to fourth. Following a red on the restart, Dollansky raced past teammate Sammy Swindell on the ensuing restart and then battled with Donny Schatz a few circuits later. Shortly after the halfway point the Elk River, Minnesota native motored past James McFadden for fourth and then by Paul McMahan six laps later. Closing the gap on leaders Tim Kaeding and Donny Schatz with just five laps remaining, Dollansky zoned in on the runner-up spot but ran out of laps taking the checkered flag with a strong podium finish in 3rd.
“It was a good run for us starting eighth and working our way up there and a good run for the Eyecon Trail Cameras team,” commented Craig. “DJ, Sean, Chevy do a great job working hard and Pete who is here helping us this weekend. Tim and Donny were pretty good but we were definitely coming on them at the end. It always takes a team effort and we have a lot of great people that support this team, as much as we wanted to get the win we’ll take a third and work on things for tomorrow and Sunday.”
The Eyecon Trail Cameras #7 team now travels to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin for racing tonight at Beaver Dam Raceway.
