Watsonville, CA — (July 8, 2013) — Over the last two seasons the “Howard Kaeding Classic” has become one of the cornerstone events for the King of the West Sprint Car Series and next weekend the third installment of the race will be held at Watsonville’s Ocean Spe…edway.

To commemorate the event, fans and teams are invited to attend the “HK Classic” luncheon held at the fairgrounds on Saturday afternoon July 13 from 2pm to 6pm, which will benefit the NARC Benevolent Fund.

The luncheon is being backed by High Five Pizza & Catering Co. along with Roth Motorsports and will feature a terrific New York Steak & Chicken lunch for a $20 donation. There will also be a raffle and silent auction. All proceeds from the “HK Classic” Luncheon will go directly to the NARC Benevolent Fund, so we invite everyone to come support a great cause and do some bench racing with many of your favorite drivers and closest race fans.

The Northern Auto Racing Club Benevolent Fund uses 100% of the funds raised to support the families of injured drivers, crew members and officials running 410 Sprint Car Series’ in California. Various beneficiaries of the fund over the last 10-years include Dennis Moore Jr., Billy Sellers, Danny Faria Jr., the family of Alan Urias, Randy Hannagan, Tom Milne, Brad Bumgarner and the family of David Tarter.

“We definitely hope to see everyone next Saturday at the HK Classic Luncheon in Watsonville,” said Brent Kaeding, who is one of the NARC Benevolent Fund coordinators. “It’s a very good cause and an opportunity for everyone to have the chance to socialize and enjoy a great lunch. We always love getting the opportunity to hang with all the fans and we look forward to seeing everyone there. It’s also your only chance to see KWS at Ocean Speedway this year so we’re really pumped up for it.”

The Ocean Speedway is located on the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, two miles east of Watsonville, California on SR 152. The physical address is 2601 East Lake Ave, Watsonville, CA 95076. For more info on the track & ticket info log onto http://www.oceanspeedway.com/

Howard Kaeding was a multiple-time California state super-modified champion, a four-time Johnny Key Classic winner and once captured a record 17-straight races at the San Jose Speedway. The driver known as the “Campbell Comet” claimed over 300 main event victories in his career and even raced into his 60’s, before retiring in the 1990’s. The “HK Classic” has been a great weekend of re-living memories from the past and will certainly be so once again in 2013. The two-night show features USAC Sprints & Midgets on Friday July 12, before the fire breathing KWS 410’s invade the bullring on Saturday July 13.See more
