Lebanon, IN — (July 20, 2013) — Spencer Bayston’s dream season continued Saturday Night at US 24 Speedway as he picked up his 6th Mel Kenyon Midget Series win of the 2013 season. The win gives him six career wins, tied with Travis Young and Grant Galloway and just one win behind career win leader Dillon Welch. Young, Galloway and Welch all earned their wins over several seasons.
Bayston took the lead from the outside of the front row on lap one and never looked back. Through the 1st 23 laps Kent Kriegbaum, Grant Simpson and Travis Young waged a furious battle for 2nd place with Young riding the cushion to give himself racing room.
The races 1st yellow came out on lap 23, Young’s high side strategy ran out of grip allowing Simpson to pull away. Kriegbaum had spun on the restart and put Cordy Horn in touch with the lead pack for the first time.
At the checkers, the official results showed Bayston, Simpson, Young, Horn and Cole Fehr holding down the top five.
