Saturday night the Southern Ontario Sprints return to the western end of the province to South Buxton Raceway for the first full show since August 2009. Dain Naida was the winner of that event and will be a contender to stand in victory lane Saturday. Dain’s win at South Buxton put him in the SOS history books as one of only 3 father / son combinations to win SOS events. Warren and Dick Mahoney where the first father / son duo to win and both will be in action at South Buxton.
Current SOS points leader Jamie Collard will be gunning to put the 7x in victory lane for the second time this season while 2nd in points Mitch Brown is hot on his heels and looking for his first Southern Ontario Sprints victory. Long time SOS competitor Frank Baranowski of Mount Hope was a winner at Ohsweken Speedway on Tuesday night when he picked up the 50/50 draw prize, He’ll be looking to continue his streak with a checkered flag at South Buxton.
The Southern Ontario Sprints are the only Canadian travelling Sprint Car tour. Teams will be coming from all corners of the province to compete with current SOS Champion Lee Ladouceur doing plenty of travelling as he makes the 8hr trip from Alexandria, Ontario to South Buxton Raceway for Saturday night.
