A part of the “Turn Tulsa Pink” initiative, Ark Wrecking Oklahoma will be the title sponsor of the Saturday night event.
What will go down as the tenth visit by the national arm of the ASCS Nation to the nearly 30 degree clay oval just north of Tulsa, the most recent visit came on August 24, 2012 with Jason Johnson taking his second straight victory at the Highbanks; his first coming on June 22, 2012.
Wayne Johnson leads the win total with three straight (5/5/01, 7/17/01, 4/27/12). Jason Johnson and Gary Wright stand tied at two each with Tim Crawley (5/15/99) and Paul White (5/9/98) all claiming victories at the Oklahoma oval.
Originally scheduled to be the second of a two day Oklahoma swing, events surrounding the promoter of the Mid America Speedway in South Coffeyville, Okla. have resulted in the cancellation of the Friday, August 16 date.
The single day visit to the Oklahoma oval will be paired with the American Bank of Oklahoma Sooner Region.
Coming out the Arnold Motor Supply ASCS 360 Knoxville Nationals at the Knoxville Raceway, 31 nights of racing have been contested in 2013 with 16 different drivers. Johnny Herrera currently holds the series points lead by 17 markers over Jason Johnson. Jeff Swindell continues to gain ground in third with Brad Loyet and Logan Forler making up the top five in series standings.
