Back in action with the World of Outlaws last weekend, Tim Kaeding scored a third place finish at the Nodak Speedway in Minot, ND coming on the heels of his KSE Hard Charger performance at the River Cities Speedway where he worked from 24th to 13th.

“We had a really strong car at the Nationals, and we had some bad luck, so it was nice to get back out and get racing again, and still have a really fast racecar,” Kaeding said.

Hitting the Nodak Speedway in Minot, ND on Sunday night, Kaeding’s night started off well as he timed the Roth Enterprises/HR Livestock Transportation/3H Cattle No.83 in eighth fastest against the 32 cars assembled at the speedway.

Starting in the second row of his heat race, the San Jose, CA pilot was able to grab the lead early in the race, and go on to win, and earn himself a spot in the night’s Dash.

A fifth place finish in the Dash, put TK in the third row of the feature event, where he would give everything he had going after the win.

With original pole sitter, Cody Darrah having mechanical issues on the first start, Kaeding moved up into the second row behind Steve Kinser. When the race went green, Kaeding jumped into the second spot as he chased after ‘The King’.

A caution on the eighth circuit put TK on the outside front row, and the restart saw Donny Schatz get under Kaeding, as he slipped into the third spot.

For the duration of the race, Kaeding chased after the Tony Stewart Racing tandem, matching their every move as they began working in thick traffic.

As the race drew to a close, TK seemed to reel in the two lap after lap, as he looked for his ninth series win.

With just a few laps to go, Kinser got a little out of shape allowing Schatz to get by, and TK though he had an opening for second, but he was unable to make the pass, and he settled for third at the stripe.

“She was an awesome car all night, especially at the end, but we ran out of laps,” he said. “Cody Darrah had the fastest car all night, and he drove by us late in the race like we were standing still, so I really hate it for him. I’ve never been to Nodak before, so we will take the third and head home to California.”

On Friday night, TK and his team were in action at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, ND.

Getting off to a rough start, TK timed in 28th fastest before finishing sixth in his heat from the fourth row, forcing him into the night’s Last Chance Showdown.

Starting eighth in the LCS, TK was on a mission on the high-speed short track, as he carved his way up to a third place finish at the stripe, putting him in the feature event, lining up dead last.

Continuing to show serious speed after struggling early, Kaeding was able to salvage his night as he charged to the 13th spot, earning KSE Hard Charger honors.

“Overall we raced very well all weekend,” he explained. “I’m happy with out performance, and am looking forward to getting out west and hitting some tracks I grew up racing on.”
