McKENZIE, TN – At a number of dirt tracks last weekend, drivers of J&J Auto Racing Sprint cars came out victorious. With wins earned in Pennsylvania, Texas, Minnesota, Ohio, Montana, Georgia, Wisconsin and Australia, J&J teams put up some tremendous victories.

Palker found the high groove to his liking behind the wheel of his No. 57x Kistler Racing Products/Kistler Engines/ King Inspection Services/Albreight Trucking J&J. He took the lead on lap six and set a blistering pace en route to his first win at the 4/10-mile dirt oval in western Pennsylvania.

ATTICA RACEWAY PARK

Jordan Ryan scored his first victory of the season Friday at Attica Raceway Park in the Foster’s Auto Body 305 Sprint division. Ryan raced his No. 5 J&J that is backed by Kistler Racing Products/Frosty Frog/Village Pizza House/Walton’s Cutting Crew/Cliff’s Engines into the lead with five laps remaining and held on to score the win.

MERCER RACEWAY PARK – ALL-STARS/OUTLAW SPRINT WARRIORS

Danny Holtgraver remained perfect at Mercer Raceway Park in 2013 winning Saturday’s 24th Annual Western Pennsylvania Sprint Car Championship. The victory was his fifth at the track this season and second with the UNOH All Stars Circuit of Champions. It didn’t come easy for the driver of Rob Hunter and Bryan Grove’s No. 45 J&J backed by Canton Erectors/Berlin Natural Bakery/Classic Ink/DKW Transport/Kistler Engines. He used a last lap pass to get by fellow J&J racer Andrew Palker, who was looking to make it two wins in two nights.

“We had a rough stretch there, but we needed this win,” admitted Holtgraver. “When we got to heavy lapped traffic, Andrew had trouble getting around them and I didn’t. That was the difference.”

Palker, who won Friday at Lernerville, just recently wrapped up his second Wayne Co. Speedway track championship as well.

In the Outlaw Sprint Warrior 20-lap feature event, Jimmy Morris raced the No. 16 J&J out into the lead early in the race and led the distance. Morris and crew crashed the week before and overcame injector problems in hot laps to close the evening with a victory.

USCS – DIXIE SPEEDWAY

Derek Hagar continued his very successful 2013 USCS season Saturday by leading all 30 laps aboard his No. 9JR J&J at Dixie Speedway. He led every lap of his heat and raced from the pole in the 30-lap main event on his way to win number nine of the season. The victory also allowed him to increase his points lead in the USCS championship standings.

ASCS LONESTAR REGION

Sam Hafertepe, Jr. raced Ricky Stapleton’s No. 1a J&J to victory Saturday night in the much anticipated battle at Devils Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas pitting the  ASCS Gulf South and Lone Star regions against one another. Hafertepe carried the Lone Star banner to victory lane and was joined in the top-four by another J&J racer, Ray Allen Kulhanek (No. 21t J&J), who came home fourth.

PLYMOUTH DIRT TRACK

Brandon McMullen picked up his first-ever Feature victory last Saturday at Plymouth (Wisc.) Dirt Track. McMullen raced his No. 98 J&J into the lead on lap seven of the 360-class main event. By lap 15, he was racing his way through lapped traffic and led the rest of the way to score his inaugural win.

WORLD OF OUTLAWS – CASTROL RACEWAY

Donny Schatz continued his torrid pace with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series. The five-time and reigning series champion raced the Tony Stewart Racing No. 15 STP J&J from 11th to second in Friday’s Oil City Cup opener at Castrol Raceway. On Saturday, he destroyed his primary car in hot laps and then used another J&J the rest of the evening and ended up winning his 17th WoO A-Feature of the season.

“These STP guys never quit,” said Schatz, who has won four of the previous six WoO A-Features. “We had to bring down a backup car and the guys kept getting it better and better as the night went on. It was a fun race and we’re just trying to keep winning as much as we can.”

NORTHLINE SPEEDWAY – AUSTRALIA

Jason McIver got his season off on a winning start in Australia by racing his No. 66 NT Hauliers supported J&J to victory in the Darwin 360 Sprintcar Title over the weekend at Northline Speedway in the Northern Territory. McIver dominated the preliminary feature race on Friday night and then the $2,000 to win feature race on the Saturday night.

“Jason (McIver) is one of the young talents up in the Northern Territory, and last weekend he was nearly unbeatable (finishing second in one of the heat race on Saturday night and winning all of his other races),” said David Challons, who is involved with J&J Auto Racing in Australia. “It has been a great start to the season for J&J Auto Racing Australia, and hopefully our drivers can continue that form when the season proper begins next month in the southern states.”
