Ron Hammons like many car owners loves the sport of sprint car racing. Over the past two seasons Hammons has taken that love a step beyond fielding multiple cars around the Ohio 360 sprint car scene. For the past two seasons Hammons has promoted Bob Reynolds Memorial at Waynesfield Raceway Park. Just like he does with his small business and his race team Hammons went all out and managed to draw capacity crowds to his events at Waynesfield. Sunday Hammons will try and work his promotional magic again with Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Non-Wing Sprint Cars, and Mini Sprints.
While Hammons is looking to close out 2013 he is already looking towards next season. His race team will be anchored once again J.R. Stewart along with addition of Max Stambaugh for next year. Stambaugh ran Hammons car at Berlin Raceway on Tuesday and will again on Sunday at Waynesfield. In addition Tim Shaffer will run select events in Hammons car again for 2014.
Sprint Car racing is lucky to have small business owners like Hammons that not only fielding multiple cars, but helping to put on innovative new events to draw people to the race track. It also is one in a growing trend of people we see renting race tracks and putting on major events. The various doing this well end up creating fresh excitement and buzz our sport needs right now.
