CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 28, 2013) – The final two races in this year’s World of Outlaws season will be contested Nov. 8 and 9 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
A pair of qualifying sessions Thursday night will set the stage for the Friday and Saturday A-Main World Finals doubleheader.
“Our team has been meticulous in going through our Motter Equipment Beltline Body Shop Fatheadz Eyewear 71M in preparation for the Charlotte events,” said team owner Dan Motter. “In addition to the chassis, we have freshened some of our motors with the help of Speedway Engine Development.
“Everybody got a chance to take a breath in these weeks leading up to the Finals since there were no events after the Oct. 12 race in New York.
“Our batteries are charged and we’re looking forward to the Finals.”
Driver Joey Saldana tallied his 84th World of Outlaws career victory in Chico, Calif. Sept. 6. No stranger to victory circle in Charlotte, he is focused on adding more hardware to the Motter Motorsports trophy shelves at the season finale. Saldana won at The Dirt Track last year in May and scored two victories in 2009.
“Now that the season is almost over the pressure is really on,” said Saldana. “We need
to qualify well and finish consistently in the top of the field both nights in order to protect our fourth place points position. We want a strong finish to the end the season. We just need to keep our focus and stay away from mistakes.”
The two World of Outlaws events from Charlotte will also include Late Models and Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds. The events will air Dec. 15 (Nov. 8 race) and Dec. 22 (Nov. 9 event) and will round out the Outlaws’ CBS Sports Network coverage this year.
