Competing with the King of the West Series during their season finale event at the Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton, CA, DJ Netto lost his left sideboard towards the end of the race and hung on to an eighth place finish.
“It was a fun night, overall,” Netto said. “We had a side board collapse late in the race, and were just lucky to finish.”
With 35 cars on hand, Netto timed his Netto Ag/Penny Newman Grain/Bogies Auto Parts entry in 12th fastest, putting him on the front row of his heat race.
Not getting the jump he had hoped for, Netto slipped backed to the fourth spot on the start, that saw him avoid near disaster. On a late restart, Netto slipped to the fifth spot, but was able to answer Sheldon Haudenschild’s call, and finished in the fourth spot, transferring to the feature event.
On the lightening fast track, Netto lined up for the 30-lap finale in the sixth row, and showed plenty of speed.
Getting inside the top-10, Netto worked towards the top five, but late in the feature, he had a bit of bad luck, and the end result was him hanging on to his machine, as he wrestled it home to an eighth place finish.
“I have to thank everyone for the help,” Netto said. “We got off to a rocky start in our heat, but overall we battled back well, and put together a decent night.”
DJ and his Netto Racing team would like to thank Netto Agriculture, Penny Newman Grain, Bogies Auto Parts, and Vande Pol Enterprises for their support in 2013.
