Competing in both the 360 and 410 races on Saturday night in Stockton, CA, Andy Gregg scored a sixth place finish aboard Scott Russell’s No. 14R 360ci machine before he got caught up in a mid race incident in his own 410ci entry ending his night.

“It was the first time I have ever ran double duty, and it was a blast,” Gregg said. “I have to thank all of the people who helped out, it was a busy night.”

With 39 cars on hand for the 360ci event, Gregg timed the 14R machine in 24th fastest, putting him in the third row of the fourth heat.

Working his way up to the fourth spot, Gregg transferred into the feature event, where he found himself lining up in the 17th spot.

In what was a wild feature at times, Gregg was able to keep his nose clean, as he worked his way around No. California’s newest track, and up inside the top 10.

When the caution finally flew on the 26th lap, Gregg found himself in the sixth spot, and would go on to finish there when the race drew to a close.

Competing in the KWS event, Gregg timed his Coors Light/LivFast Clothing/GUTS Racing No. 53 machine in 11th fastest of the 35 cars that were entered in the event.

Starting on the front row of his heat race, Gregg took advantage and picked up the win, transferring to both the Dash, and the Feature Event.

Starting fourth in the Dash, Gregg would score a fifth place finish, putting him in the third row of the feature event.

When the race went green, Gregg slipped to the sixth spot as he felt out his car, but when the caution waived on the eighth lap, Gregg pulled in the work area to address a wing ram issue.

Back underway Gregg’s misfortune continued as he was pinched into the infield on the 16th lap, and came to a stop, bringing out the caution.

The ensuing restart did not go Gregg’s way, as he got up over Dominic Scelzi’s left rear trying to avoid a flipping car, and his night was finished.

“The 360 we started pretty bad, but rallied and ran well in the feature, and in the 410 we timed in well, made the Dash, and just had horrible luck in the feature,” Gregg said. “It was a ton of fun, and I have no complaints. Overall it was a fun season, and I’m already looking forward to 2014.”

Andy would like to thank Coors Light, LivFast Clothing Co., GUTS Racing, Meyers and Son Drywall, Ervin Sales Group, K&N Products, FK Rod Ends, Eagle Motorsports, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Hinchman, Brown and Miller Racing Solutions, and 103.5 The Blaze for their support in 2013.
