February 6, 2014 – HOLLY, Mich. – The Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series “World’s Fastest Short Track Cars” will travel to Flint, Michigan’s Auto City Speedway for a two day event on Thursday the 3rd and Friday the 4th of July, 2014 for the new “FIRECRACKER 50/50” showcasing one of the most unique and entertaining formats in all of racing.
On Thursday July 3rd each car and driver will qualify. The odd and even qualifying finishing order will determine the starting lineup for each of the two 25 lap Qualifier Races. Each Qualifier race will have a six car inversion with the top eight transferring to the Friday 50 lap feature event. All other finishing cars will transfer to the Friday “B’ Main.
On Friday the 4th of July the high powered MSRXSS sprints will first see the 12 lap “B” Main with the top 4 transferring to the 20 car 50 lap feature event that will have a new and different inversion dice rolled by Thursday’s fast timer. The dice will be marked odd/even determining which row, inside or outside the top eight from the two Qualifier races will start in. Once the row has been determined the cars will start the feature straight up with no inversion. The “David D. Matteer Memorial” feature event will honor the memory of Mr. Matteer, past American Racer president, who was instrumental in the development of the The American Racer tire, the Official Tire Of Must See Racing,
The event purse is $31,400 with $5,000 to win, $1,000 to start, and a total points bonus of an additional $1,000. The purse structure is also new and different with the teams being awarded a $14, 700 purse for Thursday only or $14,700 for Friday only if either of the two race days are rained out.
“The MSRXSS cars are extremely fast, they race very close wheel to wheel, and they’re volatile, all the things that make an exciting race. Every race with this new two day format will be very competitive and very meaningful. Auto City’s fast track with completely different corners on each end will be a perfect host and test for the lightning-fast MSRXSS winged sprint cars” said Jim Hanks MSRXSS founder and president.
“The unique format has been put in place to showcase the fierce competition and open wheel racing entertainment for the avid race fans with the unique purse structure rewarding our loyal first class race teams that travel from across the country and Canada. We also extend an open invitation to any sprint car race team that meet the MSRXSS rules to join the two day competition.” concluded Hanks.
A full complement of MSRXSS racers is expected for the annual holiday event including last year’s Auto City 50 lap feature winner Aaron Pierce of Daleville, Indiana, 2013 MSRXSS Champion Brian Gerster of Fishers, Indiana, 2013 Pay Less Little 500 winner Jacob Wilson and “Bull Dog” Jimmy McCune from Toledo, Ohio.
Fans will look forward to a host of entertaining activities during the events, including a “hands-on” show car, a Meet and Greet the drivers Luncheon on Friday the 4th of July at 1:00 PM and a Fireworks Spectacular at the conclusion of Friday’s racing.
