With the 2014 sprint car season on the horizon in the Golden State, Biggs, CA driver, Kody Smith, is in position to compete in both winged and non winged sprint cars in 2014, but the young driver is seeking sponsorship help to finalize his plans.
“I am really looking forward to the 2014 season,” Smith said. “I have been busy all off season building my own winged 360 car, and now I have been presented the opportunity to compete in some USAC West Coast 360 races, but now I am to the point, where I need some additional sponsors to make this season possible.”
Putting together his own K4Motorsports No. 4 winged ASCS 360, Smith hopes to compete around the region in various races, and even plans to shed the wing a time or two in his personal entry.
Over the last few weeks, he has also been offered a ride in various USAC West Coast 360 races as well as other non-wing shows, but the California driver seeks additional help to make it all possible.
“I have been fortunate enough to have three companies stand by my side over the years with Roberto Marquez Attorney At Law, Shadd Trucking Company, and sportsvault.net, but I’m hoping I can get a few more companies interested in sprint car racing to come forward and support this season,” he added.
Smith comes from the ultra-competitive Outlaw Kart ranks in California, as he grew up competing wheel-to-wheel with some of the brightest starts in the sport today.
For 13 years he competed in the various divisions form Box Stocks to 500cc Karts, and in 2008 he graduated to the non-wing spec sprint division racing at various tracks across California.
In 2012, Smith teamed up with Chad Vermeil to run the Joe Hunt Spec Sprint Shootout series, and the Biggs, CA driver finished in the top-four in all 10 events, and picked up the season finale win at the Marysville Raceway Park.
“Racing is something that I truly love, and I have been lucky enough to be in the sport so long, and 2014 looks to be an awesome year for myself, so I am really hoping I can put all the pieces together.”
